The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies.

(ever…)

We know this really has nothing to do with Real Estate, but we promise this cookie recipe is worth sharing.  I mean it.  Full of hand-chopped chocolate, this recipe will keep you coming back for more. Try them – go ahead, I dare you!

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Make sure all your ingredients are at room temperature. Baked goods generally turn out better if everything you use is at room temperature before you start.
  3. Rough chop the chocolate into smaller pieces using a large chef’s knife and a cutting board.
  4. In the bowl of a stand mixer add butter, white sugar, brown sugar, and eggs and mix.
  5. Add in the dry ingredients one at a time, making sure to combine all the ingredients well.
  6. Line your baking sheets with parchment paper. This helps the cookies come off perfectly after the baking process.
  7. Using a 2 Tablespoon Cookie Scoop, scoop dough onto baking sheets approximately 2″ apart.
  8. Bake for 12-14 minutes.  Cool for 5 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack or wax paper lined surface.
  9. Once the cookies are cool, you can put them in an airtight container for up to a week. Place Wax Paper or Parchment paper between layers.

Additional Tips:

These are all optional, but trust me – I’ve baked tens of thousands of cookies. Each one of these tips has been come by the hard way – failure.  In my journey to the best Chocolate Chip Cookie, I have learned a thing or two. So here goes.

  1. Use the highest quality Chocolate bars that you can afford and find – Ghirardelli Chocolate is a fairly inexpensive and widely available chocolate. Just don’t use chips, they’re different. Don’t ask me how, they just are. Chopped chocolate has those rough chunks, slivers and shards all melted throughout the cookie. Mmm, chef’s kiss!  If you listen to nothing else I say, this is the thing. This one, right here.
  2. Chill your dough. Overnight is best, but at a minimum 4 hours. Your cookies will bake up thicker, with a slight crisp on the outer shell but the inside is full of all the gooey, melty, soft chocolate chip cookie goodness you deserve!
  3.  All Purpose flour can be used entirely for this recipe, reduce the total flour from 6.25 cups to 6 cups.
  4. Bake times are approximate. Not only do all ovens bake differently, but even the weather, humidity and your elevation are all factors in baking. Start cautious, and adjust until you find the perfect bake time.
  5.  Do NOT overbake.  Edges should be LIGHTLY browned. Remember your cookies continue to “bake” until they are completely cooled.
